Hi. My name is Kelesitse, and I have natural hair.

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and yours truly woke up bright and early - but my hair didn't (okay fine, I slept sans my satin scarf and I woke up looking unsure of many things).
So, off to the salon I went for a wash and blow out.

One question went through my mind the WHOLE way there - what am I doing?! Does straightening my hair make me less of a natural? Will I fit it (with whom exactly, gosh.)? How the Hell am I going to sleep with this up-do bun at night? Good Lord, will the steam shrink it when I take a bath? How am I going to moiturise it? Where was Baby Jesus when I needed a sign?!

Needless to say, Ishmael (my trusted confidante and favourite shampoo guy) hooked me up with a simple shampoo and blow out. To be very honest, I did not really realise how 'long' my hair was until Ishmael went all the way IN with his 1800W hair dryer.

Side note: Ishmael burnt my sweet scalp because he lost focus for 5 seconds. Not cute.
But I left there feeling like a new girl, and received compliments from people who know me for my Afro (in all its glorious & unsure dimensions).
I actually like my hair like this, but I wont be able to do it too often as I don't want to cause heat damage to my hair. Yay me!

If you are in the same predicament use the Kandi Brands Shimmer Oil Spray & Brush (R150.00) to replenish dry hair and improve moisture and shine - it also smells DIVINE and won't weigh your hair down.

PS. This is one of the very many dimensions of my Afro.

Have you ever straightened / blown out your natural hair? What was your experience?

Love&Light.
